UAS Campus Sitka Resource

Posted

The University of Alaska Southeast, Sitka campus, located on Japonski Island, has been a resource for Sitka since 1962, when it was first launched as Sitka Community College.

In recent years, the regional university system has become known for Indigenous language programs.

The Sitka campus — located at 1332 Seward Avenue — specializes in distance learning but holds on-campus classes, as well.

It offers associate degrees in arts and sciences, occupational endorsements, and certificates. Students attending the Sitka campus often study — among other subjects — fisheries, health sciences, and Alaska Native languages.

More information about the campus and its educational opportunities can be found online at UAS.Alaska.edu/Sitka, and on Facebook, at Facebook.com/UASSitka. The campus can be reached by phone at (800) 478-6653.
